Family History Research

My Philosophy

I grow to love every family I research. I want to give you the best information I can pack into the hours you have chosen.

"Yorkshire, Bishop's Transcript of Baptisms," Leeds, Yorkshire, England, 1695.

Quality Sources

I search for the most reliable sources -- those that were created at the time of the event with information provided by eyewitnesses. If those sources are not available, I will search for acceptable alternatives. I never rely on something being a fact without reliable sources to back it up.

Client Focused

Give me a research question to answer. Choose the amount of time you would like me to use researching that answer. You will be in control of the direction your project takes.

I follow the Code of Ethics and Professional Practices outlined by the Association of Professional Genealogists. You can view it here.

I use the Genealogical Proof Standard

in all my research projects.

The Genealogical Proof Standard is met when a researcher completes these components:

1. Reasonably exhaustive research.

2. Complete and accurate source citations.

3. Thorough analysis and correlation.

4. Resolution of conflicting evidence.

5. Soundly written conclusion based on the strongest evidence.

"Genealogical results cannot be partly proved. Proof results only when a genealogist's research, conclusion, and presentation of that conclusion reflect all five GPS components." Board for the Certification of Genealogists, Genealogy Standards, Second Edition (Nashville, TN : Ancestry, 2019) 1-3.

I have access to

the Family History Library

in Salt Lake City.
